There are some families who can have family gatherings without the gathering being awkward. Sure, there will be awkward moments, but it won’t be awkward awkward. Then there are other families whose majority of family gatherings are awkward. Even if you have a good time at it, the awkwardness lingers. And you tend to look at the clock because are you kidding me it’s only been twenty minutes since the last time I checked?
You can probably guess which one the bulk of my family gatherings fall into. But see, I am thankful for the occasional family gathering (notice how I say occasional). It’s the awkwardness that makes life interesting. And stressful. But mostly interesting.
