I knew something was going on with this blog when there had been no activity, no email alerts from WordPress, no raised bar at the top of the screen telling me how many people had visited this blog within the past 48 hours…something was going on.
I like to think this is a likable blog. If this blog were a person, you could have a nice conversation with it while standing in line for coffee. So when the blog’s activity flatlines all of a sudden, it’s a little concerning and discouraging.
WordPress recently made some changes in terms of formatting and posting. I used to just wait until I was told my post had been published; now, I get to see “Beep, Boop, Beep, Boop, look at this new cool, unnecessary feature!”
But the changes were not limited to Beeps or Boops, my friends. No.
When I would write posts and have them published, I thought the tags I had included with the posts were also published. Yet when I just checked my “Posts” page in my Dashboard, I found out that all the tags I had included in posts published after WordPress made changes to their site were not there. No tags = no readers.
Beep. Boop. Beep. I am not a happy blogger.
Interesting new change! Hopefully, there’s a new great way to build readership. Thanks for sharing this!!
You’re welcome! I was a bit upset when I realized WordPress had changed their formatting. I just hope it hasn’t happened to anyone else.
